Me love you so much!

Makenzie has started saying "me love you so much!" Nothing is sweeter than hearing those words from our amazing little girl. She is so sweet and tender!

We took her to the library last week to pick out books! And at the car wash riding a horse. She LOVES horses!

1st day of school!

Today was Makenzie's 1st day of preschool! It is actually a Mommy and me preschool! Mommy &/OR Daddy goes with her the whole time. It is wonderful! We feel very fortunate to have found this program that we can be involved in. She loved it! Gary went with us for her 1st day and they put him to work right away! He was in charge of the painting station! I think Gary had as much fun as Makenzie did!

I love Gary's apron!

NESTING!

Nesting has been the theme around our home for the last few weeks! You should see Gary's "honey-do" list! Poor guy! I am so crazed! He has worked his way down the list just for me to think of more things to add to it...but he has happily done every task WITHOUT complaint. And trust me, some of the random things I have requested have deserved a BIG complaint! He just says "nesting is done once the baby comes right?". I can't believe how supportive and patient he has been in my obsessiveness! THANKS GARY! :)
So last week my Mom came up for a couple of days and it was so GREAT! Not because she organized my pantry and cupboards, and not because she organized Makenzie's playroom, or because she organize Makenzie's closet, cooked, cleaned and even babysat Maki so I could go to coffee with a friend! But it was GREAT just to have her here! Yes, I am SO GRATEFUL for all her hard work...and I worked her! She knocked off a few things on G's honey-do list too so he was so thankful too! She is just such a fun lady! Thanks for all the laughs Mom! And Mak had a blast with Tita! They had so much fun playing together!
I was thinking this AM about Mary and how she must of felt carrying the "king of the world" and how strong her nesting instinct must of been! And she didn't even have a home to nest! She had a donkey and probably a bag of belongings. How upset she must of been when they got to the Inn and they only had space outside in the manger for her and Joseph. How sad! And I was thinking how important it is to me to have everything in it's place for our new baby. My Mom said something so profound that it has just been ringing in my ears! "The only thing that baby needs is you and Gary and how much you both love him!"...Wow, what a thought...he doesn't need my pantry to be organized or my laundry room organized! He just needs to know how much his Mommy and Daddy love him...He just needs us! Not the "stuff" that I think is so important for his first few months...He just needs us! What a reality check for me! Thanks Tita for all your help and incite! :) Here are a few pics...
Kisses!
Big hugs!

Maki really thought Tita should wear a bib for her meal! So cute!

Our conversation this AM with Maki!

Here is a little background for the conversation to make sense! Butt paste best diaper rash cream EVER! We have used it ever since she was a baby. I highly recommend it!
And for the past couple months my back/hips have been bothering me due to the pregnancy. I have talked with my Dr. about it and gone to the Chiropractor and the sockets in my hips are out (what ever that means). My body is just getting ready for delivery...No complaints though! I mean really if that is all I have to deal with I am so fortunate! Anyway, I have been very cautious when picking up Maki or carrying her around. I read a book by James Dobson that said NEVER blame the pregnancy for not being able to things with the child like holding them or carrying then up the stairs. It gives the toddler hard feelings already about the new baby coming. So, we always blame it (honestly) on my back/hips. We just don't tell her that my back/hips are bothering me because I am pregnant.

So this AM we were late to Church and had to park a distance from the Sanctuary.

So this is how the conversation went this AM:
Mak- "Mommy hold May-May"
Daddy-"Ah Daddy will hold you!"
Maki-"Mommy's back hurt?"
Mommy-"Yes honey, and we have a long walk and I really shouldn't carry you that far."
Maki-"Mommy's back hurt...um, put butt paste on it! ALL BETTER!"
Daddy & Mommy- laughing hysterically!

She is hilarious and such a little problem solver! :)
Here are few pics! That laugh and smile is so precious!
Gary picking us an orange! We have a ton if anyone wants any! We don't ship! LOL!:)

We love Barney!

We love Barney! Makenzie took an interest in Barney actually in Hawaii. We bought a few DVD's for the plane and Barney was one of them...now she is hooked! But this is why Gary and I are hooked: So everyone knows the song from Barney "I love you, you love me!" well every time it comes on Makenzie runs right over to us and sings it with us and gives us "BIG HUGS!" and "KISSES!" So fun! And Gary and I can start to sing that song anywhere and Maki comes running to give us big hugs and kisses! SO WONDERFUL! I have really never had an opinion about Barney...just a purple dinosaur to me. But Gary on the other hand has NEVER really liked the big purple dinosaur...he knows many sarcastic songs and so many jokes about Barney. But now, Gary is 1 of his biggest fans! I just laugh at the irony of it all! :)
I actually had this realization a few weeks back but was reminded of it yesterday when Gary was enthralled in a Barney show with Maki...What ever is important to those we love becomes a priority to us! I realized this when we were in Hawaii and Chelsea, Shayna and Gary would all watch Barney with Makenzie...it was so cute and heart touching to me to walk in the room and see 3 grown adults watching Barney. It was a great reminder that whatever is a priority to those we love will become a joy and priority to us! I think there are so many activities in all of our lives that we would not choose on our own...but they become a regular activities that we now enjoy! :)
I am really overwhelmed and thankful to all my family and friends who have become interested in the things that are important to me...for me! I hope am doing as much in return for you!
Here are a few pics!
I found this pic on my computer...this was taken almost 2 years ago! My baby is growing up SO FAST!

News and update

Well we had an exciting week! Makenzie is potty trained! She just won't go in the toilet...is that a problem? We don't think so!
So we started potty training last Monday and Maki was so excited! Long story short made very short, she was holding her pee/poop for as much as 4 hours and she was drinking so much! She would always go in the bathroom just not in the toilet...she would sit on it until the very last minute and then jump up and pee! So cute and funny...not at the time I might add, but looking back it makes me laugh! We kept it very upbeat and rewarded her every accomplishment with M&M's and coloring books. So long story made short...on Thursday AM she had to go so bad...she was dancing and running around and we stopped her in the hall and asked her why she didn't want to go on the toilet (we had asked her many times before too...but never got an answer...she is only 2!) she said so cutely "May-May not like toilet!" and so we said we will take a break from using the toilet and try again when she wants to. She grabbed my neck and hugged so tightly she was so excited! :) I have to say that was such a precious moment! She was so grateful to just put it behind her! So to sum it up...whenever she decides to actually go on the toilet she will be a fantastic errand runner with us and not have to go every 5 mins! This whole situation actually helped minimize diaper changes now too! She holds it much longer even with her diaper on! So good did come out of the experience! :)

And the other news is we had a little scare on last Saturday...I actually began having contractions regularly...another long story made short...after about 2 hours or so Gary made me call the Doctor just to check in and he had us come straight in to labor and delivery! Wow...I was not prepared for that! After 4 hours of testing and Gary and Maki playing on Hippo (a kiddy area outside labor and delivery) watching shows and climbing on chairs the test results all came back and I was NOT in preterm labor...anything before 37 weeks is considered preterm and I was only 27 weeks (Now 28)! So the Doctor came in (we were so fortunate my doctor was the one on call!) and went over everything with us...basically I just need to really be in tune with my body and if I get contractions again I will need to lay down and if they continue call and go back in to Labor and Delivery to check things out. We were SO GRATEFUL we were not in Labor...who am I kidding, that I was not in Labor! Yes we are a team, but I will be doing the pushing! lol! :) We would really covet your prayers for our little boy that he can go to at least 37 weeks or so...for his health sake! Makenzie was born at 36 weeks but was VERY HEALTHY! We were very fortunate! She even scored a 9 and 10 on the apgar...many full term babies don't score that high! Yes, we knew from day 1 she was amazing! :)

Sorry for the silence this week on the blog...I have been resting when Makenzie rests and eating up every free moment with Gary...he starts a new project on Monday and things are going to get a bit hectic! We also went down to San Luis Obispo for a couple days! Our favorite restaurant ever is there too! FIRESTONE! Best tri-tip EVER! We had a great trip and Makenzie was a champ on the car ride! We LOVE Barney now! LOL! :) She watched it most of the way home! It was a treat for her (and us) because she doesn't usually watch that much TV (1 or 2 short shows a day). Here are a few pics from the last couple weeks...
Ah!
Makenzie playing in Mommy & Daddy's bed! She loves it! Thankfully not at night! LOL! :)
